FIRST BAPTIST PORTER: A CHURCH "ON MISSION"
Our vision is to reach our community, our country and our world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We press towards that goal through Missions training, Missions prayer, Missions giving and most important of all, Missions involvement.
Missions training for our children is incorporated in our Awama Ministry Wednesday evenings at 6:20 P.M. Kindergarten - 6th grade begin Awana in the Sanctuary, while our 3 and 4 year olds go to the preschool wing.
Our church is involved in local missions through many avenues to share the gospel locally. Annually our mission emphisis provides food and health needs for area families in the context of sharing the gospel and providing friendship. We provide "Christmas Baskets" and gifts for children at Christmas time. We provide school supplies at various times and seek to meet human needs as we share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
A "Direct Missions" program in our church involves members in mission trips within the United States as well as on the International Mission fields around the world. Each year our people make at least one International mission trip and at least one mission trip to another state. We seek to involve scores of people to be involved in reaching our world for Christ.
Most recently members of FBC Porter have been involved in mission trips to Panama, and ministering in Colorado and in Iowa. As upcoming events and trips are planned they will be listed on our "Events" page.
